From what I've managed to find you have tested this "k" till n=360000, I don't see anyone else working on it since then :smile:
BTW: there are no reportable primes for this "k"... yet :smile:

Maybe it would be a good idea to merge former 15k reservations / status reporting with RPS' "Choose your own k..."?

I'm still sporadically working on getting the 15k stats page aligned with the "choose your own k" thread and the "report small primes here" threads. Once that project is done, I'll consider going back to the 15k threads/reservations; however, since that subforum is dead, we have to assume anyone who has a reservation that is no longer active on the forum is also no longer searching.
In other words, anyone who wants to work on a 15k reserved from the old days risks duplicating work that an inactive poster has already done. Curtis 
Among old 15k members it seems that only L58 (Henrik) is still working on his Ks, this year he reported primes for k=587650635 and k=978847155. SlashDude told me that he stopped all his clients. I stopped k=3611911875 at n=400k and k=115029915 at 385k (with gaps done to 403k). I'm still working on k=445419975 (now at 401k).

I still have k=869688105 nominally reserved, although it is quite some time since I last worked on it. As I have taken it to n=570k it is probably unlikely that I will work on it again as it is a high weight k.

Well, I am still working on k=736320585, which is heavy (~145 candidates per every range of n=1000 after sieving till p>10^13). So far I have reached n=500000 :flex:

FTM, I am 363514 for k, still no primes to report.
Sieved to 885G, (from 363K to 430K), P1 in progress, elimanting 60+ tests already. BTW, is this normal (a gap of 150K)? RegardsC.

My original file contains 4000 cadidates. I don't know how far sieved, but you can go to 20T or more. I will prepare another range from 449998 to 1M Regards C.;

Stop sieving when the factor removal rate is equal to the time to run an LLR test on a median candidate in the range.
For a small range like 425450, candidates take roughly the same time to LLR, so run LLR on a single candidate and sieve until removal rate is equal to that time. It's very inefficient to sieve small ranges; 1.2T is certainly plenty for the 425450 range. Carlos, if you have spare sieving resources, I have months of sieving work to do using sr2sieve. I'm sieving 11,13,31,45,99,127 all from 1M to 4M (except 11, which is already LLRed to 1.5M). This sieve will need to run to roughly 80T before LLR should begin, and I'm at 20T. If you'd like to do a T or so as a public service, I'd love it. Curtis

I have two data points: TurionX21600, 600kp/sec using 32bit sieve. Conroe1950, 1500 kp/sec using 64bit sieve. (per core for each) I think that means the conroe does 1T/week/core, while the X2 takes 2.5 weeks/T/core. I am happy to share the files for team LLRing once they are ready, if any of you potential sievers are interested. 13 and 11 are fairly lowweight, but 45 is very highweight (higher than 15, I think). I want to LLR 99 on my own, and 31 is for Steven (as shown on k<300 page). Also: if any of you are interested in testing a k from 1M to 4M, we can add it to this sieve and work together. You'd have to sieve it alone up to 20T to catch up to me, but adding another k to the sieve would not slow it down much. Carlos I'll build an updated sr2data file and email it tomorrow. Curtis

newpgen is so slow for a single k compared to sr1sieve that Cedric must be using sr1sieve, right??

I find it really inspiring how long you've been working on this k. I started sieving for Proth k=1281979 some months back, now I'm at around 250T as well, but only for n < 4.1M. So 2 cores produce a factor aprroximately every 2000 s between them. Primality testing will be done using Proth20 on an older GTX7xx GPU, which takes 3.5 h for a = 4M so I'll continue sieving for a while.
If I will do this with the same dilligence as you, I'll still be at this k it in 2035... :)

Some bad news...
I have completed a doublecheck up to n=1M on this k. I found 7 missing primes. They are: 13236795*2^2331521 13236795*2^2402361 13236795*2^2588931 13236795*2^2597471 13236795*2^2660931 13236795*2^2673131 13236795*2^3145631 Valerie, It appears that some sieving was done incorrectly for the range of n=220K450K. I looked at the statuses in the old 15k search thread and found that your number of tests was much less than were in a file sieved by me to P=50T. Here is the thread: [URL]https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=3705[/URL] Here is a comparison of your number of tests in that thread compared to the number of tests in a file sieved to P=50T: post #11; n=220K231K; 744 tests; sieve 1439 tests; 51.7% tested post #20; n=231K240K; 576 tests; sieve 1183 tests; 48.7% tested post #21; n=240K250K; 674 tests; sieve 1319 tests; 51.1% tested post #22; n=250K280K; 1997 tests; sieve 3944 tests; 50.6% tested post #23; n=280K300K; 1295 tests; sieve 2652 tests; 48.8% tested Summary total for n=220K300K: 5286 tests; sieve 10537 tests; 50.2% tested; 5251 tests missing Your sieve depth back then was far less than P=50T so you should have more than 100% tested of my file. Clearly this only covers part of the "problem" 220K450K range but the above was all that I found with enough detail on your number of tests to make a comparison to my file. I suspect that post #6 was the error. Where you state "Currently resieving the range 220000 through 500000 with Proth 0.42...found 3000+ factors which NewPGen initially not found". You may have been sieving for Proth primes, i.e. +1 instead of Riesel 1, and the program removed a lot of good Riesel tests. Also 3000+ factors after you have already sieved for quite awhile with NewPGen seems like a large number. I suspect that was in error. It appears that you later used a different sieve for n=450K1M so the range of n=450K500K looks OK. I also looked at your results for n=1M to 1.3M. The number of tests keeps rising abnormally as the testing gets higher: n=1.0M1.1M 12752 tests n=1.1M1.2M 13218 tests n=1.2M1.3M 14251 tests n=1.2M1.3M has 11.8% more tests than n=1.0M1.1M, which is an unusual fluctuation considering it is a higher nvalue. You may want to look into that. For comparison a sieve to P=50T has 13293, 13210, and 13139 tests respectively for the ranges. I will continue doublechecking this k up to your current test limit of n=1.3M. It should be done in ~5 days. I've attached the primes and residues for n=01M and the sieve file for n=02M that is sieved to P=50T. The good news is that this k now has 113 primes for n<=1.3M...a very large number. :) Gary

Progress information:
 Sieved to 260T Plannned:  Sieve to 300T (it will take a couple of months, but I have more confidence in this now) OR  Start testing 1.3M to 2M > I have to examine that LLR is available for armhf64 (RaspberryPi 3B & Pi 4) OR As gdbarnes mentioned, that I have missed a lot of factors when starting to sieve with newPGen and restarting the sieve almost from the beginning OR start to P1 a batch of numbers... You should use the sieve file that I sieved to P=50T. It is a good file and it is a sufficient sieve depth for n<2M. It is attached to post #90.
